I cannot remember, does the 92 come with a carrier bearing on the driveshaft? if it does, check that. One problem though, on my 87, the only way to get a new carrier bearing is from the dealership....

I would go with the 7MGTE, you can make the same power, with no mods required other than the ECU and harness. Plus, theres a buttload of them in junk yards for $600 or less.
