Time in shop
The block did not take but 2 days to do - it was the head that took so long - 2 weeks. But the total time in the shop was over a month due to needing to find enough POP CANS to get it out.

Block was $200 to shave and dip tank, check for cracks. The total Machine shop bill was $750 wich was head job, block and crank, and alot of cleaning (all intank manifolds and oil pan) I bit high but...

Check your plugs - if they look like coolant or have deposits its a BHG - Start with NO 6 as that is the most common - All plugs should be dry and light tan. Mine ran rough after sitting overnight...

Plat tip plugs can not be cleaned - standard ones can but not recommended. Replace them

Its a permatex silicon sealer for oil gaskets and water hoses.
Oil in the spark plugs leads to misfires, destroyed spark wires and if hardened, impossible to remove plugs.

Oil on plugs
The 4 plugs on the NO3 Oil Cover are leaking - very common.
Its the black plate over the plugs.
They go right to the valves.

Bolts
Another thought - I had to buy new bolts because the BHG leak distroyed some of the old bolts. If any bolts are not in NEW condition - replace the set

Stud torque
Just put ARP Studs on mine and troqued to 90 pounds no problem. ARP Bolts are $90 and troque to 78 pounds

The OIL pressure climbs to about mid scale or 40 PSI when cold which is were it has always been for this model. Rev it up and it goes to maybe 50-60,...

Spark Plugs
I then secured the Valve Covers and put 4 OIL PLUG washers on the No 3 valve covers with lots of RTV as they were leaking before the project. Installed the new plugs with Anti-Seize as the old plugs...
