Im having this problem as well what exactly did you do to fix it. My Supra is a 87 Turbo though but it sounds pretty close to what is going on. How did you find and fix it? Thanks for any help. Ryan

one of his leads were arcing off
replacement would solve the issue depending on where it's arcing off you may hear it or at night you may even see it but the car would normally idle fairly ruff or break up on acceleration if you have a lead down GL

I got it fixed. Turned out it was a shorted wire the runs from the front knock sensor to the ecu. I replaced it and now it runs perfect.
