I redid mine with the head off and out of the car. But from what I remember the bolts required a decent bit of force to break loose as well as the gasket had to be scraped off.

If you buy the felpro kit it will come with valve seals and the majority of the gaskets needed. That's what did, but got lucky and got the whole kit unopened from someone who didn't use it for 75....
