yea i checked it. im not getting anything. what i did was pulled off the 2 pin connector found my batt voltage then put my dvom lead into the other connector cranked it over and nothing.

What sensor tells the computer when to give the coils a signal on the motor you have installed? Is it a cam position sensor? A Crank sensor? Check for proper voltage out at that location with the engine turning over. Another thought is to make sure you have all your grounds. Computers and sensors don't act right without a good ground.

ive checked all the grounds over and over. everything seems to be fine. im going to run another wire from the coilpack mounting plate straight to the battery and see if that does anything. and as for the sensor i belive its run off teh camshaft sensor.

Again, check for signal coming out and going in to the cam sensor. If the cam sensor isn't sending a signal out (or getting proper voltage in), the computer can't send a signal to the coil. Also, have you checked the mass air flow sensor on the intake duct? A previous Supra I had wouldn't run without it being installed. It didn't run that great with it on either, so I sold it. Bought it at auction (not running) for $50. Sold it on eBay (running) for $600. Sure it was ragged out, but what did I care, I made some money and moved on to the next car. Might be that your engine has a MAP sensor, I don't know. But a few more things to think about checking. Is the knock sensor plugged in (if it has one)?

what side of the engine would the knock sensors usually be on? drivers or passenger? ive got voltage going to the cps so i just need to isolate the signal wire from that and see if im getting voltage from that. i read somewhere else that a tps sensor would cause something like that so im gonna take a look at that too. heres the thing though. if a afm would cause no spark. maybe ive got the wrong one. jdm engine depot is where i got my swap. they forgot to send the afm with it so i had to call them up and they sent it out. but heres the thing. its really hard to get into the accordian hose to the turbo. and i mean like really hard. its just a little too big but i made it fit. any ideas?

Not really sure what side the knock sensor would be on. I'm just throwing out ideas. The things I've mentioned are places I would focus on with any car having a no spark issue. Checking the TPS (Throttle Positioning Sensor) is a good idea as well, like you mentioned. When you say AFM, you're referring to the Air Flow Meter (or the Mass Air Flow, MAF) correct? If JDM sent you the incorrect AFM / MAF then cross reference with them the part # you have with the part your engine is supposed to be using. You mentioned that you're installing a JDM Turbo Motor into a 1986.5 Supra. Perhaps they sent you the AFM / MAF sensor for your year car, not the motor style like they should have. I wouldn't be suprised if there are variations in types of AFM / MAF sensors for Turbo's vs. N/A's and year manufactured.

thats what i was thinking about the maf. going to start checking sensors when it gets warmer. still a bit cold out there. later this week though. ill let you know what i find.

got it to start! turns out the afm is either bad or the wrong one. unplugged it and it fired right up. doesnt stay running but it starts!
