Looking at purchasing a 93-98 Supra. Have expectations of building a 500+rwhp car and need to know, should I start with a TT, or buy a NA car and add the turbo. Are there any differences between the motor internals?

I figure that some of you guys have been down this road before, and I'm looking to benefit from your experience.

you can start either way the internals of the motors are different, u will start with more power with the tt so thats always a good start, obviously the tt motors can handle boost and the n/a has to be tuned as well as fitted with parts so it can handle the boost needed to make big power...

Thank you very much. I suspected that the motor internals were different, but needed that confirmed.

I found a 94, 5 spd, N/A with 120,000 miles. The car is in primer and it looks like it hasn't been moved in a year. He wants $13,000 for it. Does anyone have any tips of things to look for--other than the obvious of not having any paint?

make sure everything is basically intact...look for damage or rust, make sure the motor is good and nothing is wrong with it...check the compression see if its ok, and make sure u test drive it...test drives usually dont lie...
