You can try connectiong the guage through its own fuse instead of adding it to the EFI one. If you start adding components to an existing system that was determined from the factory to run a certain fuse then its possible that you are overloading the system but I can't see a guage doing that.
Might the guage be connected to the oxygen sensor and now that the guage is disabled now the oxygen sensor is too? Im not sure if that will have an affect on starting but it certainly will affect it during running if there is no feedback to the ECU. Im not sure if the ECU has a default if the sensor is disabled but it will run too rich, You can also check the cold start injector and see if it crapped out. You can remove it from the intake manifold when cold, shove it in an empty plastic bottle to help contain fuel spray and crank the motor for a second and see if it sprays, if it does then you might have a weak fuel pump which could be why it takes the 8 - 12 seconds to start. There are steps in the TSRM to check fuel pressure. |
