starting problems
 

well one day when i hooked up my air fuel ration gauge my car ran fine for the first day then the next day when i went to start m car agin it wouldnt start so i was searching for an hour until finally i came across that the efi fuse blew so i replaced that and unhooked the air fuel ration gauge cause i had a feeling that that was the culprit of the whole problem and now since then whenever i go to start my car after it has sat for like overnight it takes the car forever to start up it sits there and tries o turn over for at least 8-12 seconds before it actually starts but then after that i am able to actually start it up all day with no problems unless it sits over night



has anyone ever heard this happening or has it happened to you if so input would be greatly appreciated so i can try to figure out my problem i have here thanks

You can try connectiong the guage through its own fuse instead of adding it to the EFI one. If you start adding components to an existing system that was determined from the factory to run a certain fuse then its possible that you are overloading the system but I can't see a guage doing that.
Might the guage be connected to the oxygen sensor and now that the guage is disabled now the oxygen sensor is too? Im not sure if that will have an affect on starting but it certainly will affect it during running if there is no feedback to the ECU. Im not sure if the ECU has a default if the sensor is disabled but it will run too rich,
You can also check the cold start injector and see if it crapped out. You can remove it from the intake manifold when cold, shove it in an empty plastic bottle to help contain fuel spray and crank the motor for a second and see if it sprays, if it does then you might have a weak fuel pump which could be why it takes the 8 - 12 seconds to start. There are steps in the TSRM to check fuel pressure.

i know that the gauge is not hooked up to the efi fuse its just somehow the fuse blew by itself but ill try hooking the gauge back up and see if it functions correctly but last time it did that the gauge was misreading cause no matter what i woul always be up in the rich section at the highest point
