your shifter bushings may just be worn out, or non existant.
check out on celicasupra.com or at a toyota dealer for new bushings

Yeah, those are the ones that you needed to get for that tranny and your shifter.

Here are the Toyota part numbers:

Shift lever seat bushing:
33505-35020

Shift lever bushing:
33548-31010

You can buy them direct from Toyota, or there are a number of websites you can buy genuine parts for less, such as toyotapartscheap.com

So I got the new bushings for the shifter, now I'm popping in and out of gears(first and second and once on fifth) and grinded first and second... There brand spanking new...why is it doing this now?

i just noticed something on my clutch master and thinking to myself maybe this is why my clutch is being weird...

the over-center spring is used to help the clutch pedal pop back when its over center..

so i push the clutch in. it comes back from the pressure in the master cylinder.. but the over center spring as no effect with the pedal.. i heard its spose to back the pedal back to its original place(which my pedal is not)
so i was adjusting awhile and made it so that the pedal stayed dead center when i pulled it back(to where its spose to be) i added a spring the help it get there(barely worked) and still not getting it back enough...
my question is this. (i cant adjust it to be over center becuz its already at the end of the push rod.) would i need a longer push rod or clevise to be able to adjust over center, so it will pop back all the way?

or is there anything i can do that will help my clutch return and have a better more fuller dis-engage. (it dis-engages but shifting is ruff, like it isnt a full disengage, but it is O.o lol its hard to explain)
