Of course Meineke wont actually inspect the problem. They went ahead and quote me $645 to change out the rack and pinion system altogether. Said hey if it's leaking it needs replacement. hmmmm

Upon inspection I see the black rubber seals have simply cracked and split apart. On drivers side where leak is, it is coming thru the black rubber seal. Cant they just throw on a new seal? I understand there may be an isuue beneath the seal. But i doubt it would be leaking if the seal was intact.

Just be careful, you could lose your power steering pump like me.

I find it amazing they cant just replace a tie rod seal and throw a new bushing on this. Another shop quoted me 800 bucks. I need to become a mechanic.

Well these are old cars, I think this is a common problem with the Supra. My Japanese version just started to leak as I left Japan. Mine did not really start to leak until the power steering leak was fixed.
Good Luck dude!
