Yes when they brought it over #5 and 6 plug holes where full of oil. I sucked it out with my brake bleeder then pulled the plugs and brake cleaned the holes out. I pulled all the cam cover bolts(all loose) and sprayed brake clean through the bolt holes and re-installed with locktite(blue). I did put 2 new plugs in.

I will put in 6 new plugs in next.

Are the plug wires shot after being soaked with oil? I cleaned them well but I know oil can break down and soak into rubber...maybe still shorting out a bit?? Just want to ask before I spend any more of their money....they already got soaked for $199 EACH for the KS's!

Yeah, it is definitely possible that oil soaked wires can cause them to break down and start shorting out.

You may want to find a reasonably priced set of OEM style plug wires at an auto parts store if you're worried about spending too much money... That way you can swap the cheapo's in, test drive it, and if it still doesn't work there's not that much money out of pocket.

Well I ran it buy my dad and he wants to stay with genuine Toyota parts, so the wires are ordered. So Mr. Wilson thanks for all your help.....I wont bug you for awhile.....at least until late next week when the parts show up!

Default Ks layman's terms

So for someone who is new to all this, can you explain a little what exactly a ks does. Any other items I should look for. Cleared bank, same 52 came back. Does knock mean a literal sound you can hear or is this a term for internal firing, etc? Thanks

The ks sense knock caused from to much timing it will the hear the knock or pinging and adjust the ignition timing accordingly. you changed the KS but did you do the re wire job?? I did mine a couple of days ago and it fixed the problem with out new knock sensor its very common on the supras. check the link out
