Some years have an external amp underneath the passenger seat, it could be it.
As for E3, I have no experience with them. And I have not run with anybody running them yet. Can't go wrong with NGK, but if you want to try them, let us know how they perform.
Yep, no PCV Valve....check the valve cover if the holes are plug up, clean them up. 20 years could build up sludge.
