new toyota supra 2007

http://www.toyota-supra.info/img/toyota-supra-2007.jpg
Rumors of a new Toyota Supra have been circulating for months and every
piece of information were come across further validation of these rumors.

Now we know, there will be both coupe and convertible versions of this car.
The coupe will be equipped with a 5.0-litter V-8 producing 450 bhp, this
engine will not be available for open air model.

The last will get 3.5-litter V-6 producing 350 bhp, the same power train
used in the Lexus IS350 and GS350.

If everything we're hearing is true the Supra will appear in October of
2007.

i bet that will cost a fortune......i want one:D

suprra_girl 03-14-2006 10:02 PM

i still don't know if i like it.... the rear end is kinda honda s2k to me

TONY! 03-14-2006 10:15 PM

To me, I thought of the 350Z and the Carrera GT when I seen it.
Most of art is inspired from other art. Same goes for technology as well.
Maybe those two cars I mentioned actually did inspire the engineers and designers at Toyota.

Also, if this does happen, I hope they don't call it a Supra.
It is not an inline 6 3.0 liter.
Nor is it turbo charged.
Seems very un-Supra-like to me.

If it does come about and called a Supra, I wonder exactly by how much the average MKIV will decrease by.
I would imagine it would take some of the demand from the MKIV's.

As stated, the the top car in this picture looks like it was inspired from the Carerra GT, and the bottom car looks like the 350Z:

is it gonna come to the u.s.? so far all the supras have so im gonna assume it will. i also assume it will be pretty expensive with the supra name stamped on there... well any name.

I don't think it'll effect the mk4 very much as the new "SUPRA" won't be showcased in 3f 3f...

Aston Martin Vantage totaly look at this link to a picture

TRAFIK 03-16-2006 07:16 AM

I hope that toyota never comes out with a new supra, they will never be able to beat it anyway or even come close. Nothing will efect the MKIV anyway but to me things are fine the way they are. Toyota took its time to make one good sports car and they did it right the first time and they surpassed ( supra) the compitition , unlike honda ,nissan, and mitsu toyota dosent focus on sports cars or trying to sprorty-up the cars they sell to appeal to younger people or people that like sports cars. They did once and look what happened!!!
Make the team of engeneers that designed the MKIV come back and design the new supra or another sports car , ( half of them probobly dead now ). All the cars that are being made now are crap, all mass produced with cheap materials ,cheap labor, and cut backs to cut corners to make as much money on them and spend as little as possible sacreficing materials.

To me the best cars where made in the 90s.

P.S Do you think if toyota never comes out with anything to match the supra and in like 20 years there will be only like 300 supras left in the world, I wonder what the value would be and how people would react to you saying that you own one. I bet there would only be like 1 forum. No parts avalible anywhere and everything super expensive.

How many supras are left in the world anyway?
anybody have a guess.

Couldn't agree more, 91 being the best!

RedSupra87 03-20-2006 01:56 AM

I think ...

I think it's a nice car but compared to the Supras we already own and love it just don't stand out from other cars.Looks like they went more luxury than real, raw sports car.It just looks like a new car.It doesn't have the appeal the previous Supras do.When I first saw it I thought "wow" but after looking at it for a while im not to excited about it.

Synack 03-20-2006 05:36 AM

meh... why not turbo'd?!?!?!

toyota_supraz 03-22-2006 02:59 PM

i herd that the new ones are called toyota lexus supra so that would be why there more luxery.
if you ask me i think toyota is trying to focus its brand on there luxery side-give them a better name like (lamborginni)-(ferrari).

i wonder if they will have 2 differant supras a lexus and a toyota that would be more like it :)

i love the shape of the curent supras and am disapointed that toyota would lose all that just to make it luxery :( and loseing the straight 6 & no turbo i thought that was why supras killed all & that a v8 would waight them down too much (make them slower).

i hate this my fav car i following the car that every one has here in AUSTRALIA V8s-they suck who needs power to go fast -not meeeeee :)

j3pz 03-24-2006 06:00 PM

could you guys imagine what the market for a mk4 would be like if toyota started manufacturing them agian? well for starts the price of the used ones would probably go down. god... i need to wake up from this dream

Black'88 03-25-2006 12:20 AM

Meh, I wouldn't call that a supra. They should just come up with a new name for it. A car's not a supra without a I-6

then us poor MKIII owners could afford one:bouncy: . i'd rather have the MKIII anyway, i like the body style better

thesandymancan 03-26-2006 04:27 AM

i like it , but... its just not a supra w/o the inline 6. i think they should go back and update the mkiv. dont get me wrong, i love the style of the mkiv, but a proper remodel... that would be sweet. :D

hellbringer 03-26-2006 07:42 AM

07 supra

i think at those specs that it will take alot of work to make them pass EPA standards. i wounder if it going to be like the skyline where you can get them but you would have to import them and really high costs that make not worth it. just my thought. Hellbringer

lethalwithasupra 03-26-2006 09:29 AM

It's damn nice ... but it's not a supra. Pics don't really give an indication of size, but it's some sort of compact ? Looks kinda like some european car -ick. If you had said that was an aston martin just to get what everyone thought and then said it was really a supra i would have thought you were joking ...

why are all the ricers becoming euros ??

SCRAMJET 03-27-2006 06:22 AM

I wouldn't write the new Supra off yet. If Toyota feels the car worthy of the Supra logo, we can expect it to be a pretty awesome machine. They have had plenty of time to plan it and get it right.

j3pz 03-27-2006 05:56 PM

from the pics it kinda looks like a roadster, like the mr2. if we could get dimensions of the car i think it would help alot. i dont agree with that a supe needs an i6 to be a supe, i think as long as its designed to be strong and take anything thrown at it, like the 2jz, that it would be substantial. but i would say it would be sad to see it (i6) to go though, dont see too many of them.

V-8, "Yea, Baby" !!

"They come in V-8 ?? I'm getting one" !!

justin1642 03-29-2006 06:36 AM

Why go away from the 2jzgte. i don't like the idea of a v-8. i just love the way the mkiv looks and it will never be the same.

burton51m 03-31-2006 12:05 AM

i like it . . . it looks way too expensive though.

agreed. but just the sound of a supra w/ a v8 from the factory gives me a feeling in my pants and chills down my body...brrrrrrrrrr! and if you dont like the v8, you can always swap in the 2jz, oh ya.

suprra_girl 03-31-2006 11:21 AM

^ yea i gotta agree... i'm sorta starting to like the sounds of v8's lately

so shoot me :offwall:

j3pz 03-31-2006 10:06 PM

i just thought of something. with a v8 there probably wont be much room in the engine bay. i mean you look under the hood of a mk3 or mk4 and everything is crammed in there, so im assuming the mk5 (ewww that gives me chills) would be the same. im sure that people would still find ways to bolt on turbos and other vroom-vroomers, heh

obrut89 04-02-2006 04:52 PM

that bull the people that dont like it are just jelous if your a true supra lover you love all the supras

j3pz 04-03-2006 05:06 PM

easy easy bro, everyone is entitled to an opinion, and there is no telling how much people love supras

JCP 04-03-2006 08:31 PM

do you want the same thing as a Toyota Supra V-8??? Go to your nearest Lexus Dealer and buy a SC430.... Same car different badge.

lethalwithasupra 04-06-2006 10:33 AM

It's just the supra has been I6 since day 1. Why change that now ? Even so, an n/a V8 with a racing cam ... and the mkIV is nothing like the mkIII, which does resemble the mkII ... but the nose is way to euro ... ferrari/skyline taillights ... compact ...

PS the first two pics Admin posted ? The white car and the green colored concept art in the one below it are the same car. That's significant

obrut89 04-08-2006 05:33 PM

the sc430 is no where close to a supr i have one and i have a supra

ddmcse 04-09-2006 12:12 PM

my dad had a sc
i drove it . it was cool

my son and I agreed the supra could take it 8-)

http://www.ddmcse.com/lexus/

JCP 04-09-2006 11:24 PM

ermmmm.. I was refering to the 07 supra... i guarantee that the 07 supra will be built on the same platform (frame) and will have the same drivetrain..

obrut89 04-10-2006 12:08 AM

the thing about the v8 is that its not just a v8 its a supra v8 and you know toyota knows their shit so it will be balls to the wall fast even the n/a cars are fast

JCP 04-10-2006 01:39 PM

Well.. look at the later model GS300's. They have the 2JZ-GE motors in them. Thats the thing about toyota... They use the same powertrains from one model to the next.. If it fits then use it they say :). Maybe they will hop the motor up a bit from the SC but i doubt it..

New Supra

Definitely looks like a 350Z knock-off. I'm not sayin it looks bad, just not too original. My first car was a 69 Camaro (man, do I wish I still had that car), and I see chevy is coming out (probably 2007) with a new Camaro. Saw pics and it is very much inspired by the 67-69 Camaro line. Maybe Toyota shoulda went that route, you know, the retro-look. Just my 2-cents.

So, you think it should look like a 79 celica supra? I doubt it...
