If it had 12 before you don't want to just throw 134a in it. The two aren't compatible, oils or refrigerant. He'll want to replace the dryer, expansion valve, and a few of the seals (at a minimum)...

My suggestion would be to buy a GTE engine and swap it in rather than putting a turbo on the GE. Less trouble in the long run.

That's what I'm running on mine. Easy to switch out, good quality lines. Just got to make sure you route them properly or you'll end up rubbing holes in them on the shocks & coils.

I'm gonna have to defer that to someone who knows the J-series engines better than I do. Most of what I know is the 7M, and from what you've described that definately doesn't apply here.
