On my crx the main fuel relay went out and it would only start when cold. It sends a signal to the fuel pump that the ignition is on. Im sure it is similar on the supra.

Toyota HG, ARP head bolts torqued at 75 lbs. ft., machine the head.

I like supra girl's idea... you may get away with a real bargain.

Cheap wires are alright unless you plan on running heavier upgrades. I put a set of Belden wires on my 7m and they are pretty thick, at 7mm. I had never heard of them...

Check the throttle positioning sensor, it's on top of your intake manifold. This happened on my 3vze and it was the TPS. I'm sure you can find one on ebay for about $10.

I would focus on the headgasket first. My supra only had 60K when it blew it's head gasket. Get ARP bolts and a stock toy head gasket and you should be cool, unless you want to run massive boost then...

SOund like a head gasket failure to me. Getting that head off can suck but with a little patience you should get er done in a day. Just keep track of all the damn bolts and brackets.

Check your TPS for the unstable idle speed. Happened in my pickup and it solved the problem.

Maybe get your radiator pressure tested and cleaned. YOu aren't having to give it coolant periodically...
