I was thinking he meant it took a long time of cranking to start not that it would not crank. The starter signal wire is not very good so if it wont crank you may want to look into the starter...

If its just the light for the speedo and tach then its probably a bad bulb, if none of the lights come on in the dash, ie fuel, boost, temp then you should look into the rheostat (dimmer switch).
