To answer your other question, the head gaskets seems to be a weak link in the stock motors because of low torque on the head bolts from the factory imo.

I had my stock turbo compressor wheel...

I would install the daig jumper and verify your timing is at 10 degrees for starters..

The turbo is your back pressure...You could disconnect the downpipe and it will run fine.

It can be lots of things causing this, I would check for codes and timing and look for leaks in the IC...

There is not much lag if your turbo is set up right..I have 13psi of boost at 2200 rpm on an upgraded CT-26 all the way to redline.

Some guys run a small turbo for low RPM and a larger turbo...
