The GETRAG 6-speed isn't cheap at all, they don't make repair parts, so it better be in working order. You're looking at $6k for a new one, and not much less for a used one in good working order...

it's a short shifter, not a short throw, big difference. It will make it harder to shift, as it's not close to the steering wheel (watch real race cars), and you lose a lot of mechanical advantage...

Piston, cams, block will more than likely have other things like oil squirters on the Turbo models, ect. They're close, but Toyota overbuilt the Turbo engines a bit more than usual.
