Usually they upgrade the turbo by making the compressor wheel larger, but since it's moving more air in, more air is coming out, and the exhaust side restricts it. They usually clip the fins on the exhaust, which frees it up, but adds lag.
Turbo should be the LAST thing you modify, not the first, as it's not even close to the weakest link in the system... |
