You actually do speak for yourself. PLus staying on topic has many definitions and can be percepted many different ways. Just because your perception may be different from the rest of the forums doesn't make it right.

It's clear you'd prefer if all forums had the same rules as 'off-topic'.

If you have a good reason for needing the help request to be private, I'll consider it. If not, then why not give everyone else the opportunity to pitch in too, and/or learn from the information? And I just wish someone (you) could get off this topic.
Furthermore, there is a lot that you don't know in regards to this case, and I am not at liberty to tell you that information.
You came onto this thread that did not have a post on it since a week ago for what? To start new arguments?
Case handled and finished.

If a conversation has completely drifted off track from topics relevant to the forum that the thread is located in, I feel every forum member has the right to suggest to another member that the conversation be continued in either PM or a new 'off topic' thread. As you may recall, this particular thread was the MKIV (1993-1998) Toyota Supra Performance and General Modification forum. ...and it appears you do agree that your conversation had indeed drifted completely off-topic.

Again (fwiw), I believe that at least part of the overall responsibility to hold the content in our MKIV (1993-1998) forum up to a higher standard rests on our 'shoulders', i.e. the (non-admin) individual forum members ourselves. If we non-admin forum members use good judgement and keep threads on-topic/relevant, then we make the admins' jobs easier instead of harder.

In addition, following the exact same argument you present, it could also be argued that it's not the place of one forum member to say what other forum members should ignore ... or what they should take issue with. Although this thread is now in "Off Topic", I'd suggest we follow Tony!'s advice and take any further discussion about differences of opinion on this matter offline (PM or email).
