Rebuild or swap con't Yes this is a good question. My MK IV has 135K but easy miles ie A/t and one blown turbo or switch. I was considering a "new" motor from Houston Toyota but they wanted my "core". Huh, no way. I also heard at the Las Vegas show that their were bad blocks out there being sold as new but apparently not manufactured right and cracking. I wanted a back up motor just to thrash and slowly rebuilt my motor. If a jdm was rebuilt then it would be a good block but probably overheated or run out of oil as was suggested. And the r and r time. May just rebuild orig -don
