not something you can really "fix"

static electricity will always be there.

when you get out, you have two choices:
1) hold the frame as you get out of the car, that will ground you to the frame thus preventing a static discharge.
2) get out of the car with your key in your hand, and then touch the key on the door frame before you close the door.

It is more than just a static discharge. Dont even have to be in the car to get shocked. Just walk up to it after it has run for more than 5 minutes. The whole thing it has to be running for it to happen. If/when I get to the bottom of this I will report back what I finaly discovered.

same thing is happening to mine, not only is it weird and annoying... but it almost broke skin once. It's quite a large electircal discharge. im very interested in seeing what you come up with... cause i was ready to start replacing the things you had mentioned and it didnt help it appears.. so i wont. and if i figure it out i'll let everyone know, so if you stay in the car after you shut it off, and maybe have a friend come up and touch the car, see if he gets shocked, if not then it is carried through you.
