Default 1989 Toyota Supra Clutch issue

Hi Everyone,

My car is a 5sp that was originally an Automatic.. However now when I press in my clutch, the car wont start.. All the lights come on, but it wont crank .. Now if I compression start it, it drives fine.

I'm wondering what is pressed when you hit the clutch, that makes the car start? I remember a while back I was at a beat shop having some sub woofers put in, and the car did the issue I'm describing, however he guy at the shop reached up under there and said it was a green wire loose.. "green wire".. I'm not sure what this wire is..

Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thanks!

Update: I'm Assuming that its the clutch start switch.. I looked online to find a way to bypass it.. But the way it looks online, isn't how mines look?
Help is there any other way to bypass it?

Not sure if it's the same thing, sounds like same concept anyways... but I had an 89 chevy celebrity that had a chip under the dash (kinda where our coin slot is next to the wheel). When the chip was removed, the car would give the effect the battery was dead or the starter was bad... I don't think the supra is equipped with such a feature, but I'd have to guess fuse box first and if you still need to, wiring second.. wish I could be more informative... maybe in a few more years after I've learned a thing or two here...

I actually see where the button is engaged when the clutch is pressed, but it won't work for me.. I don't know what it is.. I'm looking for a way to bypass the whole thing..

You converted from an auto right? go find a wire diagram for your car and look around the area around where your old auto gear selector used to be. There should be a connector just sitting there that you have to disconnect, there are two wires that you need to jump, and that'll bypass the switch and let you start it with the key. I can't think of the two wire colors tho, sorry.

Possible 2jz lower block swap in the works if I can't rebuild the 1j. So troublesome.

I'm not sure if you got my PM.. But are you referring to the 2 wires that plug into the clutch start switch?
