2. your key is prolly just worn out. i believe i have an original key and i can pull it out whenever i want whether the car is on or not.
3. do you have an electric radiator fan? if you do it might just be that turning on. thats the only ideas i have. hope it helps at least a little bit

1. All my cars do that. So I would say nothing is really wrong there. - its just warming up I would guess.
2. I can do the same thing, I can even start the car without the key if I don't lock the the ignition, so I think you should be able to do that - (my brother 94 ranger 5sp is the same) |

3. I dont think its the fan because it sounds like its coming from the rear end.

the rough idle and the the car sounding light it was ganna die was do to a loose bolt in the throttle body and now its running like a dream.

I also have the idle problem. But I know all my bolts are tight. Plus my check engine light is on. And my car does die. Its confusing!

i have the idle problem.. when i was delivering pizza the last few nights (yea thats right).. my car will start fine, idle fine, run fine.. but then after i make a run or two, my car is warm, i shut it off for 20 minutes, then start it, it idles about 500-600 rpm. going up and down, sputters and die, but if i get on the throttle when i start it, it will sputter, and then finally rev up, then i will rev it up to 3000rpm a couple times, then it will sit at about 900-1000rpm and will run fine.. any idea whats wrong with it? could it be the bolt like yours? could u post a pic of the bolt you tightened? thanks
