Default Just got a '90 7mgte - few problems

HI, i've just gone and got myself a 90 7mgte. got it for a bargain ?500. 93k miles, with plenty of service history and receipts, but has got a few problems, help on any of them would be great.

1) oil pressure gauge not working
2) standard boost gauge not working - but after market one fitted
3) headlight motor - doesnt come up or down
4) puff of smoke on down change
5) bit lumpy on idle sometimes, and has cut out a couple of times when braking
6) heater not working properly - have posted on another thread

generally it needs a good service and bit of minor work, but i think i got a bargain, and i'm planning to turn it into a beast, only problem is aftermarket parts are a bit hard to find on this side of the pond and expensive. But i do have a second supra which is dead that i can have spare parts from.

Planned mods-

1) 18" drift wheels (wider rear's)
2) uprated suspension - any suggesions?
3) a few bodywork bits
4) Induction Kit, Exhaust, blowoff Valve, steel headgasket, boost controller, and lots more
5) and eventually a new leather re-trim (drivers side seat bolster is murdered-common problem i believe)

i'll post some pics as i progress on my quest to make it the baddest 7m in the uk.

Well sounds like a good buy to me even with the problems.Seeing that you want to make a beast you really shouldn't worry about those problems to much. After you build up your motor it will run great with a ton more horsepower. Now if this car is your only transportation you might wanna look into the more serious problems... you know the ones that might leave you stranded at a traffic light or somewhere far from home with a dead cell phone battery and 15cents in your pocket.Have fun with it and keep us all posted.
