It might be possible to just unplug it. Look for a plug under the plastic trim at the base of the rear window. 2 Phillips screws and a bunch of push clips hold it in. You may have to pick the push clips out that don't come with the plastic when reinstalling. The wire would be in the center going up the center leg. It may or may not generate a brake light warning on the dashboard when unplugged. Why do you need to disconnect the lights?
