Hello everyone, my name is Thomas. Currently in military stationed in Kansas. I am new to the Toyota supra game. I don't have one yet but plan on getting a mkiii was looking to find or swap a 7mgte or 1jzgte and get some work done to make 350-400hp. I saving up money to do this project. Just wondering if I could get some ideas from you experienced guys to tell me what I might need or what problems to expect and if it would be worth to you to do something like this or should i not waste my time. Once again I am new to the supra game I have some car knowledge and hands on experience but don't know everything. Thanks!

well you could go a few different routs all depends on what your goals are and how much money your trying to throw at it.. Best bang for your buck would probably find one already decked out and buy it. =) or find something relatively cheap and restore it.

if you find a shell. decent frame.. shitty everything else. I would spend the extra 1k and get the 1jz with the r154 5 speed..

if you find a decent mk3 with a 7mgte you could either restore it or drop in the 1jz. reaching 350 hp with the 7m isn't extremely difficult or too costly. looking at about a grand. Thats AFTER you spend your money restoring it.. all seals, gaskets, redoing the head. any sort of forged internals.. bah! Check the supra faq for "what I need to look for" purchasing a new to you mk3.
