Check the neutral safety switch, also check the wiring under you dash and if an automatic push the shifter up toward park and hope you hear a click, there are other things but all those you can check in a few minutes. except maybe the switch. If the wiring under you dash has a short it will click but not crank, I had this issue where I would have to jiggle the wires under the dash until I got good contacts while keeping the key turned and it would eventually start, that problem was fixed when I finally got annoyed by it and just reconnected all the wires and heat shrank them.
