Whats different 7mge/ 7mgte

The GE some very different timing and fuel maps (you can't just reflash the stock ECU you'll need either a couple piggy backs to tune out the differences, a standalone EMS or to swap in GTE electronics to safely compensate). The GTE uses a higher flowing oil pump, has oil squirters to help cool the pistons, has larger injectors and is accompanied by a higher flow fuel pump... it also uses lower compression pistons (they have a deeper dish which reduces static compression).

In my opinion, having done this before, I highly recommend you do the swap... you'll save a lot of money and start out with a setup that's going to take upgrades with more grace.

Oh, forgot to mention that the ISCV on the GE doesn't have a back flow valve to prevent boost leak and both cars have different intake cams.
