hey man , if you have the tools , space and time why not doing it your self? as soon i get to my home from deployment thats my deal , replace the head gasket "its not blown" but i will upgrade parts for the engine. One important question , are you sure the car is for your son or thats just the cover up
 . my son its 14 and he already ask me if he can keep it for school and collage  . hope to see pictures soon and think about it, it can be the father and son project for winter. GOOD LUCK
