Hey evey one, new to the supra world, and wanted in. i have found a 1987 Mark III with only 45,000 miles on it. old man only wants 2500.00. but heres the questions. WHAT AM I GETTING MY SELF IN TO!!!! i have worked on cars my whole life, I can do just about any thing and evey thing to a car. but i have never messed with a supra or a import car of this age ever, seeing how i was born in '87. but i am just looking for a project car that i will have a fun time working on and a fun time driveing. another question is how hard are aftermarket parts or OEM parts for this bad boy going to be. and how what is required for a turbo upgrade on a 7M-GE I6. where do i fine out what Transmission it is, 5-speed W58 manual 5-speed R154 manual, all i could find on the trans/eng was this HT43.0V5FBB1 , does that make any sence to any one? but thank u for the help ahead of time. here are some pics as well!

First: make sure the thing runs and doesn't have a bad head gasket (very common if your not fimiliar with supra's).

Second: from looking at the pictures I would bet it has ALOT more than 45,000 miles on it to have that much paint fade and interior damage.

It could only have 45,000 on the motor and if it's been sitting out side all these years will do that to the paint And the 7mge comes with the w58 the 7mgte has the r154

With that low of mileage, it probably sat a good bit of the time. So every hose, gasket, belt, seal, and bushing should be considered. Some times a car that was driven with more miles is better than a car that sat for a while and was driven less. It could be a nice project car if that what you want but that paint and interior look like they have seem better days. Just keep in mind that a 7mge with a w58 is not that special.

Thank you for all the help, and the car runs and drives fine. With the eng I have can u get the turbo and the headers and make it a turbo and any one mess around with a twin turbo on the mark III's any info on that would be great! I'll keep every one posted on what's going on but as of now it's half way striped down only thing left is the rear end and the dash. I'll get pics up soon thanks again!!!

theres alot more to it than that brother..
who has that damn link to the conversion page..

oh the good old hoed out link
http://www.4cefed.com/conversion.html

I wouldnt drive that car at all untill all the the gaskets , seals hoses were changed out... flushed rad, changed oil...defiently new filter.. BRAKES for god sakes..

do yourself a favor and just save up for a 7mgte.. still all the fun of a project car with half the battle.. but im an NA hater..

Ha, I have messed with turbo and twin turbo a bit on newer cars but my back round is more of superchargers. What is the positive side of having 7mgte, because it already have the turbo? And is that block for the 7mgte considered a long block? And Green That link was nuts lol not even a page but all info no bullshit. And according to the man the oil, bets seals have all been replaced but I did trailer it back to the house, just in case. But I may be sticking to an N/A not sure yet ill do some digging around online and have a few of my buddies in Japan look for some parts and so on. But thank u again for all of the help, deff the place for me, hope every one have a great weekend, I know I will! Pulling the ENG and TRAN’s out today!
