Those "gaskets" are called strut mounts and I don't know why you call the struts JDM. I'm sure the USA model uses the same suspension as a Jdm one. Be careful when messing with struts since the springs can be under tension. And no it is not that easy to do struts on the mk3 with the double wishbone suspension. It took me about a day and a half but i also did the sway bars. Good Luck.

well all i thought, and all it looks like, is you take off the strut mounts, then put in your new strut and bolt it back together.

would it help if i put like the whole back end up on some jacks? to releive some tension.

okay so if i did manage to do this... which i understand now about those struts. that it would replace those strut mounts?

so i wouldnt even need those rear strut mounts?

You should get all the parts to do it right. But you might not have to replace the strut mounts but should get the rubber insulators.
