i took them off and looked underneath then looked inside the cover and said.. toyota didn't want anything entering here.. and the quickly put them back on mumbling some prayer.
so just basic road dirt getting down there won't really hurt it? periodically wipe away some grime if any builds up..
i think i better leave it on till i get my exhaust leak fixed.
