Post Gas cap cover not opening!

Hi all, my gas cap cover isnt opening now, it hasent been that bad i just proped the latch up and opened the cover manually, but for the passed two days i had to have someone open it while i held the latch. I was wondering what i could do to get the cover to open smoother? Thanks.

Use some WD-40 and bend the spring so that is will give you more of a opening.

when that happend to me,

the small piece of metal that acts as a spring to pop the cover oven
had a crack on it and got worst everytime i opened it

it will only be a matter of time b4 it completely screws up on you
so try to go to the junkyard and get another one
thats what i did

and plus the cover fits in ur pocket (junkyard rules)

might be something down by driver seat where you push the lever, i also have to fix mine. I was messing around down there when fixing my back hatch and after i assembled everything i noticed it wasnt working anymore, now i have to manually do it from the back.

Well i thought that was the prob but the cover opens when i hold the latch. This morning i put a little bit of electrical tape around the spring and at the pump it flew open, im going to let it sit for a while and see if still works.
