On the motor it looks like the piston walls are messed up pretty bad and Ill need to rebore it. I dunno if its to the point where I would have to buy oversized forged pistons or not. So I sent the block into the shop and he was going to rebore it and clean it up for 150. I called him a couple days later and he said that the crank was grounded out and we needed a new one. He also said the price of machining the block was 500! I pretty much have to replace everything but the rods.My brother,me, and my dad are going to be doing all the work if we rebuild it. So im not even adding in the labor cost.
The rebuild the cost list : Forged Pistons/rings-700 Rods- 0 (old ones still look okay) bearings - 200 Crankshaft- 400 Machining the block - 500 MHG - 150 Am I getting overpriced stuff or what? |
