That's a fairly good price actually, IMO. I'm used to hearing closer to $1K, but I've never paid anyone to do a clutch nor have I ever looked up a quote.
The RPM you're seeing sounds about right. With the N/A's 4.30:1 differential its RPM are quite a bit higher than those of a 5 speed GTE with either a 3.91:1 or 3.73:1 diff. At 3000 RPM on OEM sized tires (properly inflated and all that) you'll be doing 64MPH (yes, your speedo's going to be off a bit ![]()
