I thought this guy had a 12 second neon or something.. either hes lying, or did not do a lick of work on it himself.
im sorta done with this thread. I don't type long posts for them to be ignored. Not to sound "big headed." but man, you have a wealth of information at your fingertips and a thread with basic tips and starting points were you can research your own info then asked well informed questions. but no! Please post more scribble with bad spelling.. replacing a thermostat and thinking you can run high boost safely. dip&^it.

The engine i put in was a secondhand import. who knows how long it was sitting in a yard for, so the head had a heap of shit stuck in it somewhere. Witch finally came out after a year of giving it hell, on about 12pound boost. IT clogged the freshly cleaned radiator witch made it overheat BAD and it caused the factory HG to give up ever so slightly, it was blowing all the water out off the engine via reserve tank after hitting boost 1,2 or 3 times . it depended how hard i hit it. shift gears before boost and the water stayed where it should. Replaced HG with a cometic HG and ARP head studs. cleaned radiator out again ( take it to someone who will pull it apart and clean every little vein out with brushes properly ) AND DONT FORGET THE HEATER CORE TOO!!! i did and now i got shit in the radiator again and make sure the clutch on factory fan works properly .

when my 2nd hand import engine was first fitted we put boost up to 15 pound, boost peaked at 3500rpm making about195hp atw, power peaked at 234hp atw but boost dropped quite quickly down to about 10 pound boost at a tick over 5000rpm by then. IT had a slightly wilder tune by playing with cam timing via a vernier cam gear but it was a pig driving in traffic! . ABSOLUTELY NUTS ON OPEN ROAD THO, that made 274hp atw but also was losing boost due to only having 2.5 inch exhaust from firewall back. the timing change also let it rev out ALOT better. but all that being said, i was exspecting it to let go at any time. This engine and turbo were stock apart from EMS,boost controller. it also ran with custom exhaust and bigger fuel pump not factory. if u dont have funds to rebuild be very carefull what u do in your search for power. Compression might not be so good so you could blow out sump seal aswell, I DID !!!!!
FOCUS on Your cooling first, once it starts overheating it tends to have a snowball effect
