hey man...the conversion is a sweet set up...congrats...i must be the only person who actually thinks that it was an awesome idea hahaha.
the 8 with all its torque will pull this heavy car no worries, n considerin its a worked 1 at that, it will barely feel it lol
...the only thing i reckon would have been better...is if your old project would hav been a hemi hahaha...
but now your car wont jus look the part, it will sound it to...i mean the cars looks scream muscle...and now the motor jus emphasises it i think.

...its cool that its somethin different...i mean all these ppl sayin u should hav chucked a 1uz in it...but where is the fun in that?...thats been over-done, to many ppl hav done it already...now this is somethin new...who knows, u mite hav jus inspired a v8 conversion over here in Australia ...mite hav 2 try somethin a lil more drastic like a 572 or somethin hahaha...

nice work man and congrats again on your awesome job...and you gave some good info for the next person =]

I bet in runs high 14's. If you're not putting a LSx in, it's a waste unless you just want it to drive around and not be fast.

As for the 1uz, theres a handful of those swaps. There are hundreds of these cheezy 350 swaps and they all have two things in common, they look like shit and are slow.

As far as the V8 vortect ive never seen one but I have a feeling even with all the power its gonna be too heavy unless you carbon fiber most of the car and do weight redux.
350 is alot lighter then the 7m that is in these cars....
i will be doing this swap in about another month to my car.
will be using r154 trans with 350 in mine....

If I had an extra 1.5k sitting around I could get my stock 7mgte well above 400hp. tell u what. tell us the final tally on the price you spent in all of this. and ill get the same amount and have a race =)

on a side note, very informative post for anyone else looking to do along the same thing. hope it works out and am wanting to see some vids of it off the line. more power to you.

Default 350 Chevy Powered 1987 MKIII Supra Swap

Thought I'd post an update on how this swap is going. It runs, it drives, it's fast as hell but way to loud to drive daily. Still need finish smoothing it out and paint it, get a new windshield. But, the mechanical is pretty much done. So, here are some vids.

Have @$3500 in it. Most of the budget went toward speed parts like a heavy duty aluminum radiator, massive cooling fan, transmission cooler and fan, Holley electric Fuel pump, the weld job, driveshaft, exhaust, changing out the diff to a 3.73 posi, new tires, etc. It was a fun project and exceeded my expectations. Raced an LS2 powered Corvette and after he initially launched ahead due to my tire spin I rocketted past him on my way to 100mph+

Vacationtime247, glad to see it's up and running, will have to add some pics of it driving around (maybe racing someone?)... Legally, of course

Need to get it out and drive it more. Really only drive it to special occations. Car meets, drag strip, cruise ins, around town, funerals...lol Have to finish off the paint and get a new windshield also. Kind of stopped after I got it running. Just parked it in the garage. Besides, it's 1 of 8 cars I own. More pics to come...

Talking 愚か

Still think the whole concept is stupid. I have no respect for American metal. Sure lots of people love them but that is why other people buy Toyota Cars. My last GM was a 89 Firebird and it was a mechanical disaster, There was a rattle in the back when new. Someone had put a beer can in the rear quarter panel between the back glove box and quarter panel. Must of happened in the factory in Canada. The car went through a alternator and battery religiously every 2 to 3 years. Just about every system and sub system did not work right. I kept the stupid thing for years. Sold it on ebay last year and saw it headed for the Mexican border and good riddance!
So if you luv GM metal so much why do you want a Toyota shell?
