I have built and done several cars over the years. I have done a mgb gt2 with a gm 350 crate 250hp motor ran 14.22 1/4 mile on 5" tires. 4 chevy luv trucks with 327, 350, 355 and a 431. tube chassie car ect. I got this car at a really good price, it seems to handle very well, and the motor is fresh. I don't think it will make a ton of power, prob in the 250 -300 range without the plate system. I was worried about putting some slicks on it. and launching out of the hole. I know you can mod the crap out of any motor, the factory motor modded would also get better mpg. I'm really stuck on the v8 sound of a nice camshaft or good mufflers. My buddie has a dodge spirt r/t in full street trim running low 10s and getting 33mpg on the highway, with the a/c.
Trying to fig out if I want to go to the dragstip on the 27th witch is 98 miles away or do a solo race for my first time here in town. Either way I will post the results. |

I think that would be an awesome thing though... to pull up beside a supra with a v8 rumble...
Be interesting to see how it performs for you : ) Still.. everything I have read points towards how a failed rearend on a Supra is a very very rare event. But to put slicks on it? Thought you would have to shorten the diff and tub the body for that. The picture in my head doesnt work with a stock supra. Do you have a pulled back picture of the motor in the body? Wondering how they worked the front suspension. Not that they would have to beef it up much, Im suspecting that a Supra engine/tranny weighs about the same as that setup. The trains is a turbo 350. As far as putting on slicks I would just need to find one with the same specs as the factory tire and put it on the rim, no problems their. What kind of picture are you looking for? Hopefully I can get a car trailer for this weekend. I know i need to change the plugs and oil yet, and the back two plugs are going to be hell to change, the car is running very fat.
