ABS? i will probably buy some aluminum pipe'n... I guess ill see how it works out w/ just connecting it straight to the AFM first.

I got a complete cermaic coated intake pipes, should help reduce some of the ambient bay heat, what other steps can i take? Was thinking of try'n some of that paint helps insulate on my Heat shld for the turbo. with that thing getting as hot as it does i imagine most of the heat is from that :eek3:

something like 2200 degrees, heard that if u run ur turbo hard slam on ur breaks and pop the hood u can actually see it glow lol.

lol well yeah you can try that out spray some coat on it and see if it does anything, here is a link to some good products
Heat Protection

do you know how well that high heat coating spray works? or what temperatures its rated too? I saw some stuff at advanced auto but it was only rated too 1200 degrees which i dont think is enough that close the the turbo....

Would go the thermal wrap route but it looks really bad lol, however may wrap the unseen parts with it....

SilenceboneSupra 01-29-2008 06:07 AM

i cant tell you exactly because i havent tested it to see the temp drop under the engine.... what i did is spray the coat on the headers and wrapped it..... i did notice a big drop of temp under the hood

but if you want i have some links to some that go til 2000 degrees

SilenceboneSupra 01-29-2008 06:11 AM

they are from Amazon.com they sell them cheaper then in stores i think
this is the wrap for the headers
Amazon.com: Thermo Tec 11002 Exhaust Insulating Wrap: Automotive

this one is for the coat spray can
Amazon.com: Thermo-Tec 12001: Exhaust Wrap Coating, High-Temperature, Black, 11 oz. Spray Can, Each: Home Improvement

these ones are the ones i got because you have a 7mgte engine i gave you that suprasport website
both are for up to 2000F
