INTAKES what to do....?

Well been researching alot looking around for intake for my vehicle...

What i read alot of is dont pay someone for a kit, do it youself but i cannot find any guidence on this.

From what i have read most of the filters are about the same as far as flow are concerned, so i think i wantd to go with AEMs dry flow filter, no oil means no dmg to my AFM which is always a good thing.

Other than that read alot that the filters drawing in air from the heat of the engine cuases a power loss and just simply keep cool air in can give 6hp gains. So anyone know of a way to contruct a heat sheild and pipe'n for the MKIII supra?

Good read on intakes
Dispelling the Myth about

Think i am going to buy the LIPP intake adapter for like 35 bucks and get a AEM Dry flow filter, that way i can keep the oil from messing up my AFM.

Perhaps i can figure out a way to fabricate the stock air box to keep the engine heat away from the intake.......

Well i orderd the AEM Dryflow filter 3' by 5' for 41 off of amazon with free shipping i also oderd the LIPP adaptor so once i get it ill takes some pictures and do a little review of how it all worked out

side note: ill receive my cooleze IC pipes soon after 4 months of waiting... also order'd the LIPP spark plug galley cover w/ o rings and a HKS SSQV

that intake read makes sense until the very end when it talks about convergent vs divergent intake shapes.. but i guess fluid dynamics are beyond my comprehension ahha.. call me an advocate of common sense!

Don't mess with a box.
Just run that new filter down to the nose through the oval hole that already exists.

mkiiisupra 01-29-2008 01:53 AM

ill try that. What pipes did you use to run it through?

supramacist 01-29-2008 02:23 AM

Everyone uses those damnable honda pipes.
Or lowes crap, lol.

mkiiisupra 01-29-2008 02:45 AM

I sent an email to cooleeze telling him if he created a pipe for that purpose there would be plently of people that would buy, however i got no response back ;(

Person i would not put anything honda near my car. and i guess PVC pipes from lowes work, but not the route i wanted to go either hehe

Do you have a picture of your set up?

im pretty sure PCV plasitc lets off some kind of odor especially when heater (dont want whatever it is constantly going in your engine), go with ABS
