The cheapest thing you could do in order to increase power, would be swapping in a 7mge or 7mgte supra engine. The power increase would be moderate nothing mind blowing, but if done correctly can be vary reliable. Even a 7mgte swap can cost thousands. And at 16 I doubt your income is consistent. A j series conversion is not for novice mechanics.
I myself have been working on an engine swap for 2 years, unless you make 30 dollers an hour it's difficult to put money aside for this type of project. I am sure it's not the slam it in response you were looking for, I wouldn't want you to get over your head.

well if money is no object pick up a 7mgte j series or v8 like the 1uzfe do lots of research and check out celicasupra.com there is lots of people with the same car doing all sorts of stuff.

have you decided on an engine yet? make sure to check out all the 1uzfe and j series swaps on celicasupra.com there is even a 5L v12 swap on the forum there somewhere.
