this kinda just started, i got o a place near here and there is quite a lengthy hill i have to go up, its a gradual slope and after a little while i can smell something :S im not sure how to discribe it, almost like a mix between burnt clutch (mines supra is an auto) and burning oil or soemthing :s. im nto sure what to check ir what to do i have checked the engine and transmission fluid but they are ok, i just need to change oil in a month or so. Any advice would be greatly apreceated.

Lengthy hill.... under load your turbo (if you have one) will be working quite a lot, that and your tranny. Keep in mind tranny fluid is annoying, and depending on how hot it is, it expands a LOT.

There are a lot of things it can be, just start looking for leaks. Also you didn't mention if it was overheating at all, as it could be that, but I'm thinking it's the tranny

good suggestions

try the above, check fluid levels of all... check for all leaks.. oil, water, trannie
make sure the fluid side of the car is happy

are there any other symptoms?
is it when the heater is on? or do you smell it coming in from outside?

no heatter, its usly hot out and i have the window open. It not a turbo so wouldnt be that, well it cant be because i dont have one heh. but yeah il check for leaks. It already leaks a bit of engine oil but i check that like every week atleast so its ok. hmm it doesnt seam to be overheating, the smell seams to be the only thing that is happening, oh yeah and its not under load when it does it. thanks for the sugestions

i may sound stupid here but i got a strange smell, basically after i come to a stop from floorin it or anything pushin it i smell somethin of sewage kinda, im 90% sure its just xtra unburned gas since most old cars smell bad when u punch em but anyhow, just if thats what your smell is then dont worry about it its normal, i guess

well back in the day when my still auto. i use to have that problem... but after all i swap from auto. to manual now i dont have no more. my old one the problem is that the trainny leaking from the rear end cell n the side where the shifter and the adapter cable where the speed cable goes from the trainny to the dash board. when you speed for awhile or drove for a long distance. especially when you drove on the high way for couple hours for non stop from towns to town. when i make a stop sometime it smoke from the bottom of the car from the trainny when it smoke like that get off road n look under neath the car. trust me you see lots of trainny flyid everywhere underneath the trainny especially the converter.... check that first see if it do it. well let me know if this help you little bit.
