for 1000 hp your going to need atleast hks GT3037 twin turbo set-up I know the kit is atleast 10k if that is to much try a HKS GT2835 twin turbo kit. intercooler 4 row greddy, twin fuel pumps, 96lb msd injectors, 1100cc, 1200cc. Good head, pistons, connection rods, billet, seals, oil pump, water pump etc. Ecu tuned, 272 cams, exhaust, boost controller. IT WILL run you about 30-35k how you got deep pockets

Search Powerhouse racing. You won't be disappointed.

hey dudes, i went to suprastore.com and found the kit for you. the store has hp kits that go up to 1200hp but cost over 30,000 dollars. i do not know if it is fraud or not

1000 hp

I have read many of the replies to this question. Let me say that I have 2 supras one of which is 700rwh and the other is being built by a race car team in FLa which will break the 1000hp mark. The race teams are running between 1200 and 1300 rwhp. The cars take daily maintenance and much replacement of worn parts. You don't just say you want 1000 rwhp lightly. It takes a COMPLETE reworking of the entire engine. from the long block to the spark plug cover. I will tell you you better have 80K plus to put into the engine as well. Just replacing the short block the injectors and exhaust won't cut it. In my 700whp car i was supprised at how much it took to get a few extra horses once you passed the 500 hp mark. You need a complete package including the injectors all of these items work together to get the max performance. Good luck with your goals even if you don't make it it will be fun trying.

Sorry I missed this thread (in Shops & Part Reviews?) ...but either way 800hp (680rwhp through a 6spd) is relatively simple with a Mkiv TT (2jz-gte). All you need is a fuel system with 680cc injectors, a mid-size (eg. 67mm inducer) single turbo kit, fmic, race fuel, and some supporting electronics (eg. MAP ecu or eManage). If it's a 6spd, you'll need to upgrade the clutch as well (eg. RPS twin carbon-carbon).

1000hp (850rwhp through a 6spd) isn't much harder, but you'll need larger fuel injectors (850cc), aftermarket cams (eg. HKS 264s) a bigger turbo (eg. 72mm), and an ignition amplifier (eg HKS DLI).

I'd like to stress that there is no need for a 'built' engine at this horsepower level, unless you're talking about 1000rwhp. A bone-stock 2jz-gte block&head will reliably support 800hp and 1000hp as-is.

Fwiw, I'd recommend you also include a set of wider-than-oem rims (& wider tires of course) in your shopping list, or all that 800hp+ will do for you is burn up tires. Again, wider is necessary for traction. For diameter either 17", 18" either is okay (you could even go to 19s in the front, but rears should be 18" or less to allow for a taller sidewall (=traction). Specs must be at least 11" wide in the rear, 9.5" wide in the front.

Are you looking for a 6spd or auto?

you should just put a supercharger on top of the V6 powerhouse the supra provides.. help emphasize the nice 3.5L engine, and then switch the twin turbos out for a single turbo with a .3 A/R. That should be good for around 1000rwhp and if you crank the boost up to race settings it'll be good for 1500rwhp on race gas. It cost about $3000 for all the parts to make it a full race setup. By the way how did you come into so much money to buy a supra and all those $3000 in mods?!

The Supra's VG35 can hold a TON of boost stock I was told by a reputable source (God himself. I heard he built these, so who better to ask, right?)

In order to reach those horsepower figures you mention he'll probably have to change the heads out for a set of AFR or Victor Jr's. I heard Edelbrock is making a CRAZY set of heads for these cars nowadays.

Those heads and a new cam should net him some numbers, maybe even above the 1000 horsepower low boost and 1500 horsepower high boost settings you mentioned above.

Be careful who you listen to disturbed... This guy apparently thinks that a Supra is a Nissan ;). Unless of course he was talking about an engine swap to the VQ (though I'm not sure why you'd want to do that). Thanks for posting all of that info though.
