Your ( 3 ) coil pack 1&6 2&5 3&4 -this is correct! You have 6 cylinders , 1&6 move up together to TDC (TOP DEAD CENTRE ) ,then 120 degrees later 2&5 reach TDC and 120 degrees later 3&4 reach TDC...

Had the very same problem after overhauling my cylinder head!-would not rev beyond 2000 rpm !-- I overcame it by marking the direction of rotation ( DOR) of the rotor arm on the rocker cover...
