ok i found that a wire ripped out of the o2...
ok i found that a wire ripped out of the o2 sensor plug so i splice another plug on it from a cut harness i had laying around the wires are spliced to the right ones but still the check engine light...

most likely (99%) its a head gasket cuz it is common with the mkiii due to the head bolts being under torqued from the factory. put some pics of it on here. you'll probably want to rebuild the engine...
