Default how to stop belt squeak

ok i had an electric fan then when it died i put the normal fan on and ever since then everytime i start the car the belt squeaks and if i don't let the car sit for at least 5-10 min then when i accelerate the belt squeaks still but when its finaly warm its fine no squeaking at all. its just annoying and i want to know how to get rid of the damn squeak. did i tighten the fan down too much?

A new belt, properly tightened should not squeel.
An over-tightened belt usually does not squeel, but will prematurely wear out the bearings in the components driven.

well i didn't touch the belt i just bolted the fan onto the pulley and since then it made the belt squeak. so i don't know why it started to squeak since then.

The fan with the clutch would load the belt a bit more which might cause it to squeal. You can try belt dressing or get a new belt.
Did you get any power difference by running an electric fan?
