Default rx7 vs supra both N/A who would win

Alright so my friend has a 91 rx7 and i just got a 91 supra if we raced a 1/4 mile who would win and who has a faster 0-60 both the cars are N/A and both are in great shape.

He keeps sayin his car will run 7.2,15.3 but he only has 160 hp so i cant see how that would be
I figure my car will run 8.0 and 16.0 and thats with 200 horsepower

any insights you guys have will be great

the RX-7's rotary engine suffers from dull low-end response when teamed with an automatic transmission. Accelerating to 60 mph took a leisurely 10.4 seconds. Manual shift makes much better use of the engine's high-revving character. Hooked to the 5-speed, it delivers abundant acceleration. In Turbo form, performance is downright thrilling.

Curb weight at 2800 lbs, is 800 lbs less than Supra.

Performance: 1.3L/160hp: 0-60 in 7.2 seconds, 1/4 mile in 15.3 seconds

Toyota Supra 7.9 16.0

Yes, true. But...the p/w ratios are almost the same. That is why the 0-60 & 1/4 mile times are so close.

200hp / 3600lbs = .0555

160hp / 2800lbs = .0571

So, if the rx7 'smoked' the Supra, then the supra has some problems.

And it would be his "duty" as a Supra owner to fix it properly, and then to defend the honor of all us Supra owners, and go out and "whoop" that mazda.

200hp / 3600lbs = .0555 (18 lbs weight per horse)

160hp / 2800lbs = .0571 (17.5 lbs weight per horse)

Its that simple and if you lose (I hope not) do yourself a favor and add some mods and race him again until there is no question in both of your minds that the SUPRA is the better car.

Well said. We can talk about numbers all day but when push comes to shuv its going to come down to who is the better driver? Only the race will tell. Let us know what happens. IMO the rotary will win by a car length in a 1/8mile. Thats my assessment.
