Lol the head might be rated for 20k rpm but not the bottom end, dont rev any higher than 5000-5200 rpm. thats where the power band stops anyway.

supraboy380 05-24-2007 03:07 AM

ya the top end, but anyways lol... does anyone know how to help me with my problem?

mr.w 05-24-2007 04:04 AM

You said it cuts out after 10psi of boost, so maybe there is a fuel cut?

supraboy380 05-24-2007 04:28 AM

ya, and i told him that and this might just be his cover story but he said, well then you need a bigger fuel pump, so i don't know

mr.w 05-24-2007 08:19 PM

Well if he put the stock fuel pump back in then it would make sense on why the car cuts out. I believe the stock fuel pump can only deliver enough fuel for under 12psi.

supraboy380 05-25-2007 12:12 AM

oh..... do you think that there is any other way that he could've "detuned" it?

IHateHacks 05-25-2007 01:57 AM

Unless it has a stand alone engine management system (i.e. AEM EMS) then the answer is no. This is an OBD I vehicle.

Check the ignition timing. Thats about the extent of "tuning" a stock ECU MK3 supra.

And 20k rpm, yeah ok buddy.

supraboy380 05-27-2007 06:00 PM

i just found out some more news lol, the guy that helped him "de tune" my car said he wont tell me, but that he took off the pulleys that were on there and put on the stock ones, and he said that there was something else but i would never figure it out, so i hope that that gives another clue or something casue i can't figure it out

IHateHacks 05-28-2007 02:24 PM

Big deal, it had underdrive pulleys on it. A waste of money on a non-track driven vehicle.

And "something else you will never figure out" hmm that narrows it down...

dcrusupra 05-28-2007 03:44 PM

Pulleys wouldnt make that big of a deal. And if you do have him put the aftermarket pulleys back on, tell him to leave the crank pulley.
