Question Supra Software?

I've seen a lot of these young kids (what do they call them, tuners?) with their Honda Civics (which to me sound like angry mosquitoes) and I often see them with a laptop computer hooked up to the car. Is there any way for us Supra owners to get some use out of this, or are our cars too old? With all the sensors on the engine, you think someone would be able to come up with some software that would let you pinpoint problem areas. Just thinking out loud here, as I know absoulutely nothing about this sort of thing.

Default aem ems

The aem ems is mostly the standard choice
I think its universal
And its the program that most shops know how to use and like you said "tune"

The hardware is about 2000 dollars tho
Software. Probly about 50
Free if you find a free download or use sumbody elses
And 700 for a laptop
So you should be all set

Found this lot whilst searching for DBX II codes for a completely different application. Haven’t had chance to go through them in detail but they may be of some interest. Just type in DBX codes in Google and you will find lots more. Anyone would have thought I typed in paper clip.

Last post should have read “type in OBD II codes in Google” I got my OBD`s and DBX`s muddle up. No wonder this printed circuit board layout looks wrong.

Question Hey Bill,

Why would us MKIII Supra owners need to know ODB II codes, as the site I visited said they were not installed until the mid 90's. How would knowing them serve us? I hope this doesn't sound like a stupid question, but I was always told the most stupid question is the one not asked.

Default Sorry,

I meant OBD and that is what I typed but still got the same info, 1996 and later.

I posted the information in response to your initial question. Quote I often see them with a laptop computer hooked up to the car” Some of the shops in the links offer software that converts the diagnostic codes into a text, graphic images or graphs, Just saves counting flashes from the ecu and writing them down. Unfortunately the Supra ecu only outputs OBD 1 codes not OBD II so I doubt if we could get any more information than we do with our paper clips. As I said I thought It would be of interest.
